Microsoft’s Xbox One console is already well into manufacturing, which gets us pumped up to play the finished product as soon as possible. Residents of three U.S. cities and one Canadian city will get to go hands-on almost a month prior to the November 22 release date.
Today Microsoft announced the “Xbox One Road Tour” that will visit a handful of cities and bring with it the playable consoles. Xbox brand ambassador and social media manager Major Nelson will be along for the ride, and he’ll be bringing playable builds of Forza 5 Motorsport and Killer Instinct, with the latter including the classic arcade cabinet that can be played on.
Major Nelson is also bringing giveaways on the Xbox One Road Tour, though exactly what remains to be seen. I doubt he will give out pre-orders for Xbox One consoles for free but stranger things have happened. More than likely the freebies will be of the swag variety like Forza 5 Motorsport and Killer Instinct branded shirts, buttons, stickers, etc.
Here’s the complete schedule of where the Xbox One Road Tour is headed. Be sure to check it out if one of those cities is yours (though Arizona gets shafted as the Road Tour shows up after the console is released).
