Nintendo is reporting their internal tracking statistics reveal Wii Sports Resort has crossed the 1 million units sold mark in the United States.
Wii Sports Resort had already moved over 1 million units in Europe and Japan meaning a minimum of 3 million total units have been sold.
The MotionPlus accessory that comes with Wii Sports has sold over 2 million units thus far meaning 1 million of the little $20 add-ons has sold via either packaged with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 or as a standalone accessory. Whichever way you spin it, MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort are both slam dunk hits.
The success of Wii Sports Resort and the unusually long time Nintendo took to bring it to market makes us wonder why a new Wii Sports entry is not an annual occurrence. They can’t be that hard to program, can they?
