Development on the next “The Fast and the Furious” film is further along than anyone anticipated. In fact, it has sped past entry number 5 and right through 6.
Earlier today, Vin Diesel took to his insanely popular Facebook page to offer an update on the street racing franchise. Rather than one film being in works, there could be a second. “If 2009’s ‘Fast and Furious’ was chapter one, what writer Chris Morgan just delivered is Chapter 2 and chapter 3,” wrote Diesel to kick off his post.
“I have never been submitted a two story saga from a studio before… it is very exciting, and shows a commitment level that is hard not to respond to,” he continued. “Excited about the sexy locations the filming of this sag…a would take us… this novel like story, that has twists and unexpected turns that is authentic, truthful and challenging to the characters.”
Universal has yet to make any comments about Fast & Furious 5 and 6 but it would appear the engines are beginning to rev up.
