Update: Halo: Reach Beta is Live; See Instructions

Update: The Halo: Reach Beta went live just after 1pm EST/10am PST today!

The Halo: Reach multiplayer beta is ready to launch on Monday, May 3 for those who own Halo ODST for Xbox 360.

There has been some confusion as to exactly when the beta is launching on Monday as well as how to access it via ODST. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 ambassador Major Nelson stepped up to sort of clear up any confusion on both topics.

In the Major’s words, “The Halo: Reach beta is expected it to go live Monday (May 3rd) in the early evening (GMT)/late afternoon (ET)/late am (PT).” The tricky thing about the Major’s wording is that late afternoon EST is early afternoon PST. A good bet to get into the beta asap is to start looking for the beta around 1pm EST/10am PST.

Microsoft has put together a web page at Xbox.com that details instructions of how to access the Halo: Reach beta from Halo ODST once the beta is live. They even have a nice series of screenshots that walk you through the process step-by-step.

Unfortunately we do not have any more Halo: Reach beta codes to give away as they were all awarded last week. Other than some lingering contests out there, ODST is the only way in. We have been playing the beta for several days and will offer our impressions once more features open up with the public launch.
