When rumors run wild on a Michael Bay Transformers film, the outspoken directed is known for popping up on his forums to set the record straight. Case in point: a new rumor report surfaced suggesting the footage in Transformers: Dark of the Moon shot with 3D cameras was unusable. You bet Bay was quick to fire back.
In a to-the-point post on his official forums, Bay called the unusable 3D rumor originator a “moron” and said not only are there no problems with the 3D footage in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but no live action show as ever pushed the boundaries of 3D like his upcoming sequel will. He calls the footage “beautiful,” says the entire film was shot with 3D cameras (i.e. there will be no post-production 3D) and promises to reveal details of the 3D process in the coming weeks.
Bay goes on to state an “announcement piece” is coming for Transformers 3 and will be attached to Tron: Legacy and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. In simpler terms this means the first teaser trailer and footage is coming a month early this time around. We didn’t get our first look at Revenge of the Fallen until the Super Bowl in early February before its summer release.
