Blood will flow this weekend when a pair of horror sequels, The Final Destination and Halloween 2, square off at the box office on practically the same number of screens. The winner will get to adjust their marketing and grab about being the #1 horror film. The other will have to settle for seconds.
Ang Lee’s humorous look back in time with Taking Woodstock also opens but on less than half the screens of either Destination or Halloween. The film is being heavily marketed (I haven’t gone a day the past week without hearing or seeing a commercial) and hopes to feed off the masses with no interest in watching people die creatively executed deaths.
Here at TheHDRoom we’ve set up a new weekly game that will let you predict the weekend box office for these three new films, as well as District 9 and Inglourious Basterds, and then compare your results against our Box Office Prophet and the average of all the other players. You can check it out and hopefully choose to play by clicking here.
