Kirk, Spock and the rest of the Enterprise crew will encounter some new allies during their adventures in Star Trek The Video Game. Two of those allies have just been revealed, and both hail from the planet New Vulcan.
Star Trek The Video Game opens with Kirk and Spock responding to a distress call from a mysterious space station that is on the verge of being destroyed. Upon arrival they meet T’Mar, a female Vulcan scientist that serves as captain of the space station and shares a history with Spock when they were children. Her good looks will catch the eye of Kirk, and I can only imagine what Spock will think of that.
T’Mar is said to play a “prominent role” in Star Trek The Video Game so she joins the Enterprise on their mission.
Later on in the game, the trio end up on the planet New Vulcan where meet up with Surok, a Vulcan leader. Surok happens to be not only a childhood mentor of Spock but also the father of T’Mar. He was one of only a few Vulcans to survive an attack by the Gorn, and the reasons behind that attack – to steal the Helios Device – is pivotal to the game’s plot.
“When we crafted this story we wanted to make sure the player realizes that the usually logical, Spock can have very emotional connections to the ones he cares about,” said Paramount Senior Vice President and Executive Producer Brian Miller. “Surok was one of Spock’s childhood mentors and is also T’Mar’s father. Together, they are helping to lead the colonization of New Vulcan.”
Star Trek The Video Game comes to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on April 23, 2013.
