Warner Brother Interactive Entertainment has announced ‘Speed Racer: The Game’ will be released on Nintendo Wii and DS simultaneously with the Wachowski brothers’ film sometime in 2008.
The game will (obviously) allow players to take on roles from the film, such as Speed and Racer X, as they race car-fu style against one another. John Gaeta, the Co-VFX Supervisor on the Speed Racer film, is working with developer Sidhe Interactive to ensure the film’s aesthetic will carry into the game.
It’s too early to tell if Nintendo’s upcoming Wii racing wheel will be utilized, but we’d be shocked if it wasn’t. We’ll have more ‘Speed Racer: The Game’ info as it’s passed along in the months ahead.
