Original article (August 29, 2012): The first clean Skylanders Giants characters list images have hit the web that finally confirm the complete non-exclusive roster for this fall’s “big” sequel coming to Xbox 360, Playstation 3, 3DS, Wii, PC, and later on, Wii U.
To clear up any confusion about the Skylanders Giants characters, I’ll preface the images and list with a recap of what Toys for Bob and Activision will be releasing beginning October 21. There will be 8 new Giants characters with LightCore technology priced at $14.99 each, one for each elemental group. Tree Rex will come with every packaging variation of the game so the other 7 will have to be bought individually.
There will be 8 all-new regular sized Skylanders characters, again one for each elemental group. There will be 8 LightCore figures, one for each elemental group, that will be based off existing and Giants regular sized characters. The LightCore characters will have an alternate regular version, either a Series 2 or all-new character. Lastly, there will be 24 Series 2 characters, which are new sculpts of characters from Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, breaking down to 3 for each of the 8 elemental groups.
So to recap, each elemental group will include 1 Giant, 1 all-new regular sized Skylander, 1 LightCore Skylander, and 3 Series 2 resculpts.
Starting with the Water Element we have Thumpback (Giant), LightCore Chill, Slam Bam (Series 2), Zap (Series 2), Gill Grunt (Series 2), and Chill (All New). Click any of the upcoming images for a larger look.
The Tech Elemental group includes Bouncer (Giant), LightCore Drobot, Drill Sergeant (Series 2), Trigger Happy (Series 2), Drobot (Series 2), and Sprocket (All New).
The Earth Elemental group includes Crusher (Giant), LightCore Prism Break, Terrafin (Series 2), Bash (Series 2), Prism Break (Series 2), and Flashwing (All New).
The Magic Elemental group includes Ninjini (Giant), LightCore Pop Fizz), Spyro (Series 2), Wrecking Ball (Series 2), Double Trouble (Series 2), and Pop Fizz (All New).
The Fire Elemental group includes Hot Head (Giant), LightCore Eruptor, Ignitor (Series 2), Eruptor (Series 2), Flameslinger (Series 2), and Hot Dog (seriously, and All New).
The Undead Elemental Group includes Eye-Brawl (Giant), LightCore Hex, Cynder (Series 2), Chop Chop (Series 2), Hex (Series 2), and Fright Rider (All New).
The Life Elemental group includes Tree Rex (Giant), LightCore Shroomboom, Stealth Elf (Series 2), Zook (Series 2), Stump Smash (Series 2), and Shroomboom (All New).
The Air Elemental group includes Swarm (Giant), LightCore Jet-Vac, Sonic Boom (Series 2), Whirlwind (Series 2), Lightning Rod (Series 2), and Jet-Vac (All New).
