With Sasha Baron Cohen putting the Bruno character to rest permanently after the self-titled feature film, speculation about his next project is slowly starting to built steam.
The first rumored role comes from not the most reliable source, unfortunately. Britain’s notorious The Sun tabloid is reporting Cohen will play a Eurovision singer in a mockumentary about the annual crime against music.
Cohen’s writing partner, Dan Mazer, has supposedly already written the script and Hollywood hitmakers Working Title are behind it with an intended 2011 release.
Their “scooper” offered up the following quote, “He and Dan thought it better for Sacha to dream up another character – and the scope for an oddball creation is huge.”
With not one other news outlet catching wind of a completed script this news should be digested with an ample serving of salt.
Personally I would rather see Cohen tackle a straight comedy for a change rather than dream up another character to annoy people with. What do you all think? Share your thoughts in the Comments below.
