This year marks the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, the venerable Nintendo gaming franchise that seems to get better with age.
As part of the Zelda 25th anniversary celebration, Nintendo has launched a new website that lets you explore the history of the game franchise and watch the entire E3 orchestral presentation of the Zelda. The performance is definitely worth a few minutes of your time.
Nintendo today also launched a new challenge for Zelda fans who own a DSi or DSi XL and have a little creative spark. From now through September 9, you can use the free Flipnote Studio application to create Zelda-inspired flipnotes or animations and upload them for the Nintendo team to judge. That team, including Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka, Eiji Aonuma and Yoshiaki Koizumi, will pick their favorites to showcase on the Zelda 25th anniversary website.
