Mirror Mirror Release Date Slides Two Weeks; New Featurette and International Trailer

Mirror Mirror Release Date Slides Two Weeks; New Featurette and TrailerMirror Mirror on the wall. Will someone please nail down a firm release date for the first Show White film to hit theaters this year?

In a move perhaps dictated by the strong word-of-mouth for Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games, Relativity Media has once again changed the release date of their Snow White themed film Mirror Mirror starring Lily Collins, Armie Hammer and Julia Roberts. It was originally scheduled for release on March 16. Now it won’t hit cinemas until two weeks later on March 30.

With the move, only two months and change separate Mirror Mirror from the other Snow White film, Snow White and the Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Liam Hemsworth. That darker look at the Snow White fable won’t arrive in theaters until June.

Before the new release date was announced, Mirror Mirror was set for release one week before The Hunger Games. Had it stayed there, it might have enjoyed a decent opening weekend, then dropped off a cliff once Jennifer Lawrence took aim at the box office.

Now Mirror Mirror comes a week after The Hunger Games and hopes to pull in some of the spillover traffic that young adult guaranteed hit will attract.
