This morning 2K Sports responded to yesterday’s EA Sports NBA Elite 11 announcement by raising it with the number 23.
Former Chicago Bulls star and current Charlotte Bobcats majority owner Michael Jordan has agreed to be the cover athlete on NBA 2K11. The cover with his Airness isn’t available for viewing yet, though 2K did pass along a teaser ad which you can check out below.
2K’s press release does not explicitly state Jordan will be a playable character in the game. It does, however, include this tagline which leads me to believe he will be, “Legendary former NBA star makes a virtual return to the hardwood this fall.”
NBA 2K11 has a release date of October 5 on a minimum of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Other game details are still under wraps and won’t likely be revealed until E3 gets underway in the next couple weeks.
