We never once doubted the almighty Megatron would resurface in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, even after being unceremoniously dumped on the ocean’s floor. But what would he return as? The same alien jet? An earth vehicle? The answer appears to be neither.
Two different sets of images have surfaced courtesy of LatinoReview and the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog depicting Megatron in Transformers 2 as what appears to be a Cybertronian tank. The first set of images are 3-D renders likely used as design guides, while the second set are for a Hasbro toy that looks virtually identical to the 3-D renders.
Megatron maintaining a Cybertron alt-mode does jive with his overwhelming anti-Earth stance. He also doesn’t seem to have the personality to want to be a “robot in disguise.” He’d rather revel in his destruction than take the form of a primitive technology.
There is one thing about these tank images already causing an uproar on the Internet. Megatron’s head is clearly visible between the tank treads. It looks like a McDonalds Happy Meal design to us, so lets hope the head goes bye bye for the final design.
