‘Major League Eating’ Comes to Wii via WiiWare

Mastiff has announced Major League Eating: The Game will be released exclusively on Nintendo Wii as a downloadable title through WiiWare on May 12.

The game version of the sport dominated by Japanese eating sensation Takeru Kobayashi takes the fun of stuffing your face with artery clogging food at a breakneck pace and adds new defensive elements such as bites, burps, belches, mustard gas and jalapeño flames. Offensive moves like cram, toss, and typewriter will combine with Burp-offs and Hot Potato challenges to spice up the contest even more. All the moves will be accomplished via motion-control with the Wii Remote.

Major League Eating: The Game will offer single and two-player matches on and offline, as well as leaderboards. Pricing has yet to be determined.

“Watching Major League Eating is like watching poetry in motion” says Bill Swartz, Head Woof at Mastiff. “Professional gurgitators have the grace of ballerinas yet the brute strength, mental focus, and intestinal fortitude to push their bodies and minds as hard as athletes in any other extreme endurance sport. Victory is sweet and defeat can be well, really, really messy. It’s an experience we’re proud to help bring into the home.”
