‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Video Shows Difference Between PS4 And PS5

CD Projekt Red released a new clip today that shows off the graphical and gameplay differences between the PS4 Pro version of the game and the new PS5 version, that will be coming in an update post-launch — sometime in 2021. Players can still play Cyberpunk 2077 on their PS4 through the backwards compatibility, and it will be upscaled with the hot new tech, but a full-on PS5 version will take better advantage of the new console’s technical abilities.

The video centers around the “Nomad” mission thread, and the first-person perspective highlights the use of lighting and shadows on the PS4 Pro. The ray tracing of the new generation consoles should further enhance that lighting effect, as with so many characters with cybernetic mods all over their bodies, the light should just glisten off of them, creating a visual treat for players.

Cyberpunk 2077 looks amazing on the PS4 Pro, based on this short six minute clip, but when it shifts the the upscaled PS5, the world of Night City looks richer and more colorful. One fully updated, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions should absolutely stun players and we are super excited to take that leap.

Viewers also get a good taste of the first-person gameplay and conversation trees. No matter what, Cyberpunk 2077 is looking to be an intense gaming experience that will send off this terrible year and help welcome what we all hope is a better year in 2021. Who knew that playing a game that takes place in 2077 could have that much power on gamers everywhere.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on PS4 and Xbox One and PC on December 10, 2020. The free updates to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be released sometime in 2021. Check back for a full review of the massive new game from the studio behind The Witcher series.
