Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz rode their Ducati in Knight and Day to $3.47 million at the box office on Thursday. The tally, a 9% drop from its $3.8 million opening day, brings Knight and Day’s total earnings to $7.29 million which doesn’t bode well for the action/comedy crossing $30 million from Friday through Sunday.
Pixar and Disney’s Toy Story 3 continued its domination on Thursday by adding another $13 million to its pot for a running total of $167.5 million. A $60 million or more weekend is certainly within reach and Finding Nemo’s $339.7 million Pixar record not of the question either.
Tomorrow Sony’s Grown Ups joins the group but will be hard-pressed to earn half as much as Toy Story 3, much less usurping it from the top spot.
