Principal photography is underway in and around New Orleans, Louisiana on The Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Blake Lively and Tim Robbins.
Joining the cast at the last minute are a pair of Kiwi actors, Temuera Morrison and actor/filmmaker Taika Waititi. Morrison is best known for playing Jango Fett and the clones in the Star Wars prequels. In The Green Lantern he will play Abin Sur, a member of the Corps who helps Hal Jordan become the Green Lantern.
Waititi will play the best friend of Hal Jordan. It is unclear how instrumental his role will be to the plot.
The Green Lantern flies into theaters on June 17, 2011.
