The first official image from Jeff Wadlow’s sequel Kick-Ass 2 looks remarkably like some of the on-set images that emerged on the web from Toronto, Canada a few months ago. In fact it’s snapped from the very seen that bystanders were snapping unlimited pictures of.
At least with an official still we get to see Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes up close. He’s ready to dish out some patriotic justice with his mask-bearing dog and an American flag-decorated bat. And he looks like as much of a fool as Kick-Ass himself does standing out in public.
Kick-Ass 2 sees the return of Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and possibly Nicholas Cage in some of flashback. Joining the cast with Carrey are Lyndsy Fonseca, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Clark Duke, Lindy Booth and Morris Chestnut. The story sees a group of ordinary people band together in a team of superheroes to take on crime and the return of a ticked off Red Mist.
Look for Kick-Ass 2 to arrive in theaters on June 28, 2013.
