The latest issue of Game Informer magazine confirms the fourth Disney Infinity Play Set, and first to be available outside the Starter Pack, is based on Pixar’s Cars.
The Cars Play Set offers six to nine hours of gameplay that extends the franchise’s story after the events of Cars 2. Players will be asked to entice international racers to Radiator Springs by building nifty new tracks and hosting a big racing tournament.
Over in the Disney Infinity Toy Box world, the Cars Play Set will add extra value with the inclusion of race track pieces and buildings that players will be able to place and control as they see fit. The buildings are said to be destructible, and better yet, what’s left of them can be used as “stunt-park pieces” to perform tricks off of.
Expected to be included in the Cars Play Set are figures of Lightning McQueen and Holley Shiftwell. Two additional now confirmed figures expected to be available in single packs are Mater and Francesco Bernoulli. Each figure will have their own missions to complete in the Cars Play Set.
Disney Interactive has not confirmed when the Cars Disney Infinity Play Set will be available to purchase. All signs points toward a wave 1 release alongside the Starter Pack on June 18.
