Electronic Arts has formally announced a sequelt to the wildly successful and creepy horror game Dead Space is currently in development at Visceral Games for Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC. A separate Wii version was not part of the announcement.
Dead Space 2 puts players back into the role of Isaac Clarke to battle another seemingly neverending onslaught of Necromorphs as the “infection” begins to spread throughout space. There will be new characters, weapons, zero-G environments and of course nasty enemies to battle against.
Twists in the story are to be expected and promised by EA. The only hint they’ll offer as to what to expect from the story is this time “Isaac will be calling the shots.”
EA offers no timetable for Dead Space to arrive in stores but considering the first game was released in 2008, a late 2010 speculative arrival timed with Halloween makes sense.
