Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants is having a mighty fine day today. It’s hard to imagine he could do any better.
First, Major League Baseball writers chose Tim as the National League Cy Young Award Winner. Tim beat out Brandon Webb of the Arizona Diamondbacks who also had an outstanding season.
The folks at 2K Sports must have woke up on pins and needles in anticipation of the announcement. Just a few hours later they issued a press release stating Tim would be the cover boy and spokesperson for Major League Baseball 2K9, complete with early packaging shots.
They must have had him signed before the Cy Young was announced. Imagine if Brandon had won.
MLB 2K9 will be in stores sometime around the start of next season. In the meantime, you can check out the new covers with Tim doing what he does best plastered on them.
