Perry Moore, who co-executive produced The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy of films and wrote a novel centering around a gay superhero, died on Thursday at the age of 39.
Moore was found unconscious in his Manhattan home on Thursday according to police reports. Though foul play is not suspected, some unconfirmed reports are suggesting Moore died from an OxyContin overdose. The official cause of death will not be released until a medical examiner determines it.
In addition to co-producing The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Moore wrote the novelization of the first Narnia film and the gay superhero novel ‘Hero.’ The latter he wrote in an attempt to “change the universe” based on his own sexual orientation.
Moore’s lone directing credit came from the 2008 film Lake City which starred Sissy Spacek. He co-directed that film with Hunter Hill.
