Today Ubisoft announced Call of Juarez: The Cartel, the third game in the Call of Juarez series, is currently in development at Techland and will be in stores on Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC this summer.
Unlike the previous Call of Juarez games which were set in the old west, The Cartel jumps forward in time and will be set between Los Angeles, California and Juarez, Mexico in the present day. Though no story details are offered you can safely assume what types of crime might come into play.
Despite the new scenery and modern weapons, Techland hopes to big many elements from the old west Juarez games forward into The Cartel. Just take a look at the Xbox 360 box art below which features a wild west looking guy flanked by an FBI agent and a suave undercover officer. I suspect by-the-book and bounty hunter law enforcement methods will clash.
In addition to the Xbox 360 box art, check out the March EGM cover below that will reveal additional game details on the pages inside.
