Call of Duty Game Announcement May 1; Could Be Black Ops 2

Call of Duty Game Announcement May 1; Could Be Black Ops 2Activision is gearing up to announce the next Call of Duty game that will be in stores later this year for, at minimum, Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC.

A new teaser image has appeared on the franchise’s official website. It states the next Call of Duty game will be revealed Tuesday, May 1 during the NBA Playoffs. Expect the commercial to spread online shortly after its on-air debut.

A peek at the source code on Activision’s teaser page includes a trademark disclaimer for Black Ops. Going by Activision’s every-other-year release schedule between Modern Warfare and Black Ops, we can reasonably assume the new game will be along the lines of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and include zombie modes.

It will be interesting to see if the next Call of Duty game will appear on Nintendo’s upcoming new Wii U console. Part of the reason Nintendo beefed up their next Wii is to entice third-party developers, and what better game to have available this upcoming holiday season than perennial bestseller Call of Duty.

Mark your calendar and set the DVR for one week from tomorrow for the next Call of Duty game announcement.
