Amanda Plummer is the latest new face to join the growing cast of Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Plummer will play the tribute Wiress, known by other tributes as “Nuts,” who returns to the game arena to participate in the 75th annual Hunger Games. She isn’t the best communicator, but is a valuable asset based on her observations of how the arena and its traps work.
Fans will remember Plummer most from her roles in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction Terry Gilliam’s and The Fisher King. Next she’ll be seen in Abigail Harms.
Plummer joins Philip Seymour Hoffman who was cast as Plutarch Heavenbee in Catching Fire a little over a week ago as the second newcomer in the sequel. Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, and other principal cast members from The Hunger Games will also return.
Production on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is scheduled to get underway in roughly a month. The finished film will debut on November 22, 2013.
