2K Games has announced an agreement with Cryptic Studios that will allow them to publish Champions Online on Xbox 360 and the PC in the spring of 2009.
Cryptic Studios is best known as the creative minds and muscle behind City of Heroes and City of Villains.
Champions Online will be the first MMO, or massive multiplayer online game published by 2K Games. It is based on the popular pen-and-paper RPG game.
“2K Games is excited to work with such a talented group as Cryptic Studios,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Given their stellar pedigree and amazing grasp of the MMO genre, we are confident that Champions Online will deliver an innovative and exciting action MMO experience to gamers.”
