Jason Momoa Comments on Batman v Superman and Justice League Script Status

Jason Momoa Justice League

Jason Momoa is doing the media rounds to promote Season 2 of SundanceTV’s The Red Road that you may or may not have seen heavily promoted on television already. The Hollywood Reporter had the opportunity to chat with Momoa during the rounds and managed to sneak in a few questions about the upcoming role that will elevate his popularity to a whole new level of awesome.

Director Zack Snyder didn’t waste much time after Momoa was confirmed to play Aquaman in a 2018 standalone movie and in 2017’s Justice League film to reveal the character’s look in a surprise Twitter post. By doing so he virtually confirmed that Momoa will cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and we may even get our first glimpse of him in motion with that film’s first trailer next month.

When asked by THR about the Aquaman costume, Momoa offered a candid response. “Michael [Wilkinson], the head costume designer, he created all of that. I basically just showed up and he made it happen. And it’s all Zack, through his genius mind.”

Momoa further commented on the status of Justice League by confirming it’s not quite on his radar and he has yet to see a script. “Justice League is quite a ways off. We don’t have scripts and stuff like that,” Momoa added. “I’ll bring my professionalism there. I’ll bring my sense of humor. Hopefully people will like that. If they don’t I’ll modify it.”

The Aquaman character is brimming with personality and unintentional humor in Warner’s animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold that lasted three fun seasons. It will be interesting to see what kind of humor Momoa brings to the role in a world that Snyder has painted as hyper-gritty and slim on laughs in Man of Steel.
