One of two logical events for Warner Bros. to release the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer has been confirmed by Variety according to multiple inside sources.
The good news is that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer release is attached to Warner’s Mad Max: Fury Road, set to drive into theaters on May 15. Pencil in that date on your mental calendar as the furthest time frame you’ll have to wait to see Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as Batman and Superman, respectively, squaring off against one another.
I suspect Warner Bros. will appease the Internet and immense anticipation and hype for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and release the trailer online a couple days ahead of its theatrical debut attached to Mad Max: Fury Road. If so, I further suspect the Batman v Superman trailer to give the Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens trailer’s record of 60 million views on YouTube in one week a run for its money.
The other logical place the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer might have premiered would have been Comic-Con in July. Now the expectation is that Warner Bros. will bring either a new trailer, the first clip from the film, or a combination of both for the ultimate sizzle reel to the big convention in San Diego, California.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is sadly still a little less than a year away from its March 25, 2016 release date. The Zack Snyder-directed sequel to Man of Steel and preface to The Justice League movie also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred the butler, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. Jason Momoa will make a cameo appearance as Aquaman, and other superhero cameos such as Cyborg and The Flash are also expected.
