Quantum Break Coming in 2015 to Xbox One; New Trailer Now and Full Reveal at Gamescom

Microsoft and Remedy Games finally offered an update on Quantum Break this morning, one of the first Xbox One exclusives announced last year and to date the one most shrouded in secrecy.

For starters, Remedy Entertainment has put together a new Quantum Break trailer that showcases snipptes of the game’s “signature, time-amplified gameplay.” Remedy Creative Director Sam Lak introduces the new footage and talks a little bit about the game.

This trailer also announces that a major Quantum Break reveal is on tap for Gamescom in August and the game will be released in 2015. The reveal will theoretically include the first gameplay footage and perhaps offer a sneak peek into the live-action show embedded within the game.

With Quantum Break making a big splash at Gamescom in a couple months, what does that mean for Microsoft’s E3 presentation in a couple weeks? By sharing this news now, Microsoft is essentially conceding that Quantum Break isn’t ready to share at E3 and instead, other games will be the focus of their media briefing. Maybe we will get a new trailer but I wouldn’t expect much else.

Here’s a new Quantum Break official synopsis:

Launching in 2015 exclusively for Xbox One, Quantum Break delivers an entertainment experience like no other with the fusion of an intense, cinematic action game and a high-quality, live-action show. The game follows Quantum Break’s hero, Jack Joyce, as he desperately struggles to prevent the end of time, while the show revolves around the conspiracies and intrigue within the villainous corporation called Monarch Solutions, Jack’s main enemy. Together, they form an intertwining narrative where the actions you take directly impact how the story across both the game and the show unfolds.
