Your first crack at Bandi Namco’s Dark Souls: Remastered on Nintendo Switch comes this Friday, September 21st. And it comes with a rather obvious catch, and a caveat, that some will groan at.
Right now you can log into the Nintendo eShop via a Switch and download the Dark Souls: Remastered Network Test. The first time you will be able to access the game i.e. the online beta is from 5 to 9 pm PST. You can play again on Saturday and Sunday at the same times until the Network Test formally concludes at 9 pm PST on Sunday.
The Dark Souls: Remastered Network Test is set in the Undead Parish and features both single and multiplayer modes to try out.
The catch is that you must be enrolled in the newly launched Nintendo Switch Online service to partake in the Dark Souls: Remastered Network Test. Whether you’re joining now for the free trial or a paying member doesn’t matter.
The caveat is that save data from the Dark Souls: Remastered Network Test will not carryover to the final game when it is released on October 19th.
