There are two games based on 80s movies I’m dying to get my hands on. The first is Aliens: Colonial Marines which has been in development at Gearbox for seemingly ages.
The second is Ghostbusters, the former Activision title sold to Atari who wisely picked up on the property’s nostalgic draw.
Though Aliens lacks a release window much less a date, Ghostbusters is confirmed for release on June 16 to tie into the film’s 25th anniversary. It will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and various other smaller platforms. The original Ghostbusters movie will be available the same day on Blu-ray Disc. I’ll definitely be picking up both.
Atari has passed along a dozen screens from Ghostbusters revealing some new environments, showing Slimer and one of Gozer’s dogs for the first time, and showing Dr. Venkman in his digitized form.
Check out all of the screens in their full high resolution below snapped from the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC version.
