Codemasters has announced acquiring the publishing rights to Blue Omega Entertainment’s new third-person shooter IP, Damnation.
Damnation’s claim to uniqueness will be its wide open environments and aerial acrobatic moves performed either on foot or in vehicles. Blue Omega promises miles of open land and thousands of vertical feet with which to use quick reflexes and agility to conquer.
The large worlds in Damnation will result in levels that will take upwards of three hours or more to complete. Not only will players be able to reach areas with superhuman jumping and acrobatic abilities, enemies will to. Think the massive levels in Heavenly Sword, only with the ability to fully traverse them.
The vehicles in Damnation will range from motorbikes capable of launching across seemingly infinite chasms, to huge, armour-piercing thanks capable of firing shells. A glimpse of the motorbikes riding on a wall is available in the first-look screenshots below.
Codemaster and Blue Omega promise a “unique” multiplayer component which, judging by the screenshots, will include some sort of cooperative gameplay.
Damnation will be released late this year on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the PC.
