The 2014 Corvette Stingray was just unveiled at the North American International Auto Show yesterday. However, the newly desiged Corvette was first unveiled at the LA Auto Show back in November, which gave Polyphony Digital and Chevrolet plenty of time to create the car for Gran Turismo 5 on Playstation 3.
If you already own Gran Turismo 5 then you’re in luck. This morning Sony announced the 2014 Corvette Stingray will be available to download and drive starting tomorrow, January 15. Better yet is the download will cost you absolutely nothing.
Polyphony Digital worked closely with Chevrolet to ensure the 2014 Corvette Stingray is the game is as authentic as possible, down to the smallest of details. For example, the shift schedule for the 7-speed manual transmission has been replicated for the game.
Here are some basic facts about the awesome new car: produces an estimated 450 horsepower and 450 ft. lbs. of torque, accelerates from 0-60 in less than four seconds, can achieve more than 1g in cornering grip, is the most fuel-efficient Corvette ever that exceeds the EPA-estimated 26 MPG of the current model.
Gran Turismo 5 owners, set a reminder and be sure to snag the 2014 Corvette Stingray as soon as it goes up for download via the Playstation Store.
