Electronic Arts has announced San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker has signed on to be the cover athlete and spokesperson for NBA Live 09.
Parker may have been the obvious choice after he won the EA SPORTS NBA Live All-Star Challenge last February, despite being knocked out of the playoffs by Kobe and the Lakers.
Parker is the first European player to grave an NBA Live cover which goes along with the international theme EA has built in this year. NBA Live 09 includes 24 authentic FIBA teams with realistic team play styles and rosters, as well as a FIBA World Championship Mode using FIBA tournament structure, rules and court dimensions. FIBA matches can be played 5-on-5 online against opponents around the world.
Some of the new features you can expect to find in NBA Live 09 include Pick and Roll Control, Defensive Lockdown Control, Signature Playcalling and Quickstrike Ankle-Breakers. A training camp will offer the opportunity to hone these skills before using them in games that count.
NBA Live will be released October 7 on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2 and Sony PSP.
