With The Mandalorian Season 2 wrapping up this Friday on Disney+ with Chapter 16, the door will be fully open to delve behind-the-scenes and see how this latest amazing season was made.
Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian – Making of Season Two has been formally announced and will premiere on December 25th, the same day Pixar’s Soul debuts on the streaming platform.
This year’s Disney Gallery is a single hour-long documentary special and not a series of episodes like last year’s Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian special was. The reason is most likely due to the impact of COVID-19 that began right after production concluded on The Mandalorian Season 2 earlier this year.
Disney’s description of this new special reads as follows:
“Filmmakers and cast provide unprecedented access to the storytelling decisions and innovations that went into the second season of the Emmy Award-winning series. Featuring immersive on-set footage that places viewers right in the middle of the filmmaking process, and rare insights from the cast and crew, this special documentary explores the production of all 8 episodes in season two – from early concept art through the groundbreaking technology introduced in the series.”
