Nintendo has formally announced their holiday exclusive bundle is the Zelda Nintendo 3DS XL with The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds download code.
This bundle package was leaked roughly a week ago via GameStop’s Black Friday ad. It was only a matter of time before Nintendo made it official, and this morning they finally did less than a month before its November 22 release date.
This Zelda bundle includes a black and gold 3DS XL handheld gaming system with the Triforce emblem on the gold side. The underside, in black, represents the two worlds of Hyrule and Lorule that Link will be exploring throughout The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds game.
There’s nothing in Nintendo’s announcement stating that this bundle is exclusive to GameStop or a limited edition. We really won’t know how rare it is until it’s released. I suspect it will be shipping for the holiday season only and will vanish by early next year as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS bundle did when it was released.
If you really want this bundle and want to lock in a pre-order, GameStop is accepting Zelda Nintendo 3DS XL with The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds pre-orders right now at the price of $219.99.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, followed by the bundle box art and a reveal video by The Legend of Zelda franchise producer Eiji Aonuma.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is set in the same world as fan-favorite The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Super NES and takes place in the same Hyrule after many years have passed. In this new game, Link must journey between two worlds, Hyrule and Lorule, using a mysterious power that lets him become a drawing on walls. Link’s ability to merge with walls allows players to solve puzzles and explore dungeons in a new way. Players are also able to buy or rent various items throughout the game, allowing them to explore dungeons in any order they want, adding a new level of freedom to the game play.
