The Xbox Reveal has arrived and with it a promise of a new generation of Xbox gaming and home entertainment that could take us as far as the year 2020.
In this age of social media, Microsoft has chosen to share the big reveal with the world on a dedicated stage by offering access to it live via several different places. Let’s rundown how you can watch the live online streaming of today’s Xbox reveal that starts at 1pm EST, 10am PST.
The first place you can tune in to the live stream is at Xbox.com. Likewise, the live stream will also be available via Xbox Live if you happen to be on your Xbox 360.
Twitch.tv is also hosting a live stream of the Xbox reveal for Gamespot. Major Nelson, Xbox’s community manager, will appear one hour after the one-hour reveal event to discuss what was shown (3pm EST) exclusive via the Twitch.tv stream.
Those with a Windows 8 phone can grab an app with access to the live stream here.
My number one pick for the Xbox Reveal is GameTrailers. They had the highest quality and most reliable stream of Sony’s Playstation 4 event over a month ago. Most people will flood Xbox.com to stream the Xbox Reveal, so I have embedded the GameTrailers stream below.
As for what to expect from the Xbox Reveal? Microsoft has already stated that we will get an inside look into the making of the new Xbox console that many expect will be named Xbox Infinity. I would also expect information on a new Kinect, some new exclusive games (Fable and Halo are frontrunners), the Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay reveal, and a large portion geared toward non-gaming such as music, watching streaming television shows and movies, and that sort of thing. I would also expect close integration with the new Windows 8 Surface tablet and the Windows 8 operating system in general.
