With all the X-Men superhero projects stewing at Fox you’d think one was on the fast track towards production. Yet Deadpool with Ryan Reynolds, Bryan Singer’s X-Men First Class and X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 are progressing at a snail’s pace
The latest confirmation of this trend comes from Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, who blurted out the expected shooting timetable for Wolverine 2 at the People’s Choice Awards. After shooting Shawn Levy’s Real Steel this summer, Jackman intends to shoot Wolverine 2, set in Japan, in mid-2011.
This news sheds more light onto how potentially awesome 2012 is shaping up to be. Already on tap are Marvel’s The Avengers and Star Trek 2. The GI Joe sequel and (wishful thinking) The Dark Knight sequel could also bow. If these all fall into place then 2012 could be a record breaking year.
