The Expendables blasted through five new competitors at the weekend box office and came in just under $17 minutes after the final dollars were tallied. The closest threat, Vampires Suck, stunk up reviews but still managed to best Julia Roberts in her second weekend.
The Prophet is celebrating a second consecutive 4-1 win in the latest round of our Weekend Box Office Prophet Game by dropping only Lottery Ticket to the average player predictions. With the win, top player finisher buffcubby scores a consolation DVD prize.

Next weekend James Cameron’s Avatar returns with additional footage exclusive in 3D on roughly 700 screens. It will be joined by Takers and The Last Exorcism in an effort to dethrone The Expendables.
