Vivendi, Sony Team Up For ‘Ghostbusters’ Video Game

Sony Pictures and Vivendi Games have teamed up to produce a series of games based on the Ghostbusters movie franchise. The announcement comes not too long after European developer Zootfly released an in-game demonstration for a Ghostbusters-universe game, which was promptly squashed by Sony for copyright infringement.

That footage will be the only Ghostbusters-related material coming out of Zootfly, as Terminal Reality has been tapped to develop the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC version, while Red Fly Studios is working on the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2 and handheld versions.

Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, William Atherton, Brian Doyle Murray and Annie Potts will all lend their voices to the game. In addition, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis will be penning an original script set in the time period after the events that transpired in Ghostbusters II.

We’ll have more on the new Ghostbusters game, due in stores sometime in Fall 2008, in the months ahead.
