Rumors suggesting a new DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops was on the horizon were confirmed today when Activision officially announced ‘Escalation’ is coming to Xbox 360 on May 3.
‘Escalation’ includes 5 maps; 4 designed for multiplayer gameplay and a fifth for zombies. In Hotel, you’ll battle on the roof of a luxury Cuban casino and hotel in Old Havana. In Convoy, the action takes place where a U.S. military convoy has been ambushed. In Zoo, you’ll fight amongst the ruins of an abandoned Soviet-era zoo. In Stockpile, a remote Russian farm town where weapons of mass destruction are hidden is the battlefield.
No details are being offered regarding the zombie map/mode other than Activision and developer Treyarch have labeled it Call of the Dead and claim it achieves “a whole new level.” I wonder if you’ll get to play as a zombie or can be infected and change sides? The possibilities are fun to speculate.
Thus far Activision has not announced pricing or a release date for the inevitable PS3 or PC versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops ‘Escalation’ DLC map pack.
