Michael Bay’s Transformers 4 has been quietly gearing up for production with little to no information about the robotic characters or plot surfacing. That changed today in the form of a substantial rumor report from JoBlo that is chock full of potential spoilers. Please proceed at your own risk.
According to the report that came from a marketing event, Autobots Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will return and Prime will be captured by the Decepticons. Amongst the Decepticons will be new villain Lockdown who happens to have a ship full of old decommissioned Transformers.
Prime will find the Dinobots amongst these Transformers and somehow bring them back to life. Not only that, he and Bumblebee will ride the Dinobots including Grimlock and Swoop into battle in Hong Kong.
Just yesterday it was confirmed that Chinese actress Li Bingbing had joined the cast and that the film would shoot partially in China. Paramount did not specifically mention Hong Kong in their press release, but the rumor does seems to loosely match up with what’s officially known to date.
The report also states that Autobot Hound will appear in the film, and Megatron will be born again as Galvatron, an act that also happened in the 1986 animated film Transformers: The Movie. A picture of Hound accompanied the report but I’m unsure on whether it’s official artwork or fan made.
As with any early rumors I would take these with a grain of salt. It is somewhat reassuring to see them come from JoBlo who aren’t likely to print such a report unless they had confidence in their “reliable” source.
