THQ Bringing ‘Worms’ Franchise to Wii

Worms are slithering onto Nintendo Wii and bringing a huge arsenal of weaponry with them. THQ has announced the long-running ‘Worms’ franchise will debut on Wii next spring in ‘Worms: A Space Oddity.’

Turned-based strategy gameplay should be a perfect fit for Wii’s Remote, which will play a big role in ‘Worms: A Space Oddity.’ Players will be able to use gestures to launch attacks across 6 planets or online with up to three friends. Classic Worms modes will be included, as well as all-new single-player missions and multiplayer party games.

In addition, developer Team17 Software Ltd out of West Yorkshire, UK, has created an all-new visual style for ‘Worms: A Space Oddity’ that abandons the hand-drawn look previously seen in the series for a retro science fiction style.
