‘The Closer’ actor John Tenney has been tapped to portay Hal Jordan’s (Ryan Reynolds) father Martin in DC Comics’ and Warner Bros. The Green Lantern.
Given Tenney’s age (49) there is a slim possibility that his fatherly duties will take place during a flashback sequence when Hal is a young lad with big dreams. Jenna Craig is already cast to play an 11-year old version of Anna Faris (Blake Likely), but as of yet casting for young Hal Jordan is either forthcoming or not been made public yet. More than likely Tenney will play the current version of Martin and act alongside Ryan Reynolds.
The Green Lantern is deep into production in Louisiana under the direction of Martin Campbell. The first footage is expected to debut at Comic-Con in roughly a month’s time, less than a year ahead of its June 17, 2011 release date.
