The Prophet cannot wait for The Blind Side and The Twilight Saga: New Moon to exit the Weekend Box Office Prophet game. Both rounds they have appeared in have been the two lowest scoring affairs for the Prophet to date.
New Moon won its second straight weekend with $42.9 million from Friday through Sunday and just over $66 million for the 5-day holiday weekend. Had the game been for all five days then the Prophet would have actually come close with his prediction. Alas it was not to be.
More surprising than the continued success of New Moon is The Blind Side which cleared over $40 million in its second weekend of release. That is $6 million more than its opening weekend and a domestic total already exceeding $100 million.
The Prophet also failed miserably at predicting Old Dogs, Ninja Assassin and Fantastic Mr. Fox. It was a poor showing all around which means top scorer jlafount walks away with a Blu-ray or DVD prize.
