Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger Team Up in Escape Plan Trailer

Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger Team Up in Escape Plan TrailerSylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger join forces to bust out from the most technologically advanced and fortified prison ever constructed in the film formerly known as The Tomb, but now known as simply Escape Plan. The first trailer has arrived and promises all the old man butt-kicking and one-liners that can possibly be stomached.

In Escape Plan, Stallone plays prison security expert Ray Breslin who makes a living out of exposing prison design flaws so they can be remedied before a prisoner takes advantage of them. As fate would have it, Breslin is framed for a crime he didn’t commit and thrown into The Tomb, a prison that supposedly offers “no hope of escape,” except for the world’s foremost expert on escaping prisons.

While incarcerated, Breslin calls upon a goateed Schwarzenegger as Swan Rottmayer for assistance in surviving prison life and finding a way out. The two don’t exactly hit it off, but realize they must work together to escape and ultimately find out who framed Breslin and give the nefarious mastermind an old fashioned butt whooping.

Schwarzenegger and Stallone first teamed up in The Expendables films, which have proven successful enough to put a third installment into pre-production. When the elder Schwarzenegger went out on his own in The Last Stand since departing his post as Governor of California, box office success didn’t follow with a mere $12 million gross in ticket sales.

Stallone didn’t fare any better in his solo action outing away from the aging stars of The Expendables franchise. Bullet to the Head felt just like that to the film’s financiers when it earned a paltry $9.5 million during its box office run.

Perhaps the duo’s combined muscle can turn around their box office fortunes.

Escape Plan co-stars Jim Caviezel, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Amy Ryan, is directed by Mikael Hafstrom, and is scheduled to expose The Tomb’s flaw(s) by Stallone’s hand when it arrives in theaters everywhere on October 18 of this year.
