Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition Arrives; Already Sold Out

Nintendo’s original Super Mario Bros. game was released 25 years ago, launching one of gaming’s most venerable, respected and successful franchises ever. Since then many Mario-themed games have been released which presented Nintendo the opportunity to revisit repackaging several together in an anniversary package.

Today Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition for Nintendo Wii was officially released. The package carries a suggested retail price of $29.99 and includes the games Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 to mimic the same collection of games released on SNES back in 1993. Also packed in is a Super Mario History soundtrack CD.

Due to the holidays and nostalgic draw of anything Mario-related, Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition is proving near impossible to find on store shelves. Gamestop, Walmart, Best Buy and Toys R Us’ websites are all sold out of the game. Amazon.com is sold out as well but you can still pick it up from a third-party seller for anywhere from $40 to $50.

How “limited” Super Mario All-Stars: Limited Edition for Wii will truly be cannot be judged until after the holidays and is dependent on whether Nintendo decides to ship more copies to stores.
