Paramount has released the first clip from J.J. Abrams’ upcoming nostalgic sci-fi thriller Super 8 as the film barrels toward its June 10 release.
The clip depicts the train crash that will set forth the events leading to a small town being terrorized by some “thing” that escapes the wreckage. It’s cut radically brisker than the trailers and TV spots preceding it which makes me suspect there’s footage missing. If that’s the case, consider this an abridged version of the first Super 8 clip. If not, then Abrams decided in the editing bay to speed this sequence up.
