SSX Demo Coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 This Tuesday

SSX Demo Coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 This TuesdayThis upcoming Tuesday, February 21, EA Sports is unleashing a free playable demo for SSX, the return of the snowboarding franchise that helped successfully launch Playstation 2 so many years ago.

The SSX demo will be available on both Playstation 3 via PSN and Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Those of you in Europe will need to wait an extra day for the demo’s appearance on both platforms. No matter where you live, the SSX demo will disappear on March 20 so be sure to download it before that date.

In the SSX demo you’ll get to play as Zoe Payne, though by referring a friend you can unlock Mac Fraser as well. Regardless of who you’re playing as, the demo will allow you to hit the mountain at the JT2 event in the Rockies, or the Bulldog trick event in New Zealand.

The SSX demo is online and RiderNet enabled which will allow you to test drive one of the new modes, Explore. Here you’ll get to see ghost runs from other players, while RiderNet will recommend challenges for you to take on based upon the performance of you and your friends.

Some other features that will be available include SSX Globe, a Google Earth-inspired globe to aid in navigation and course selection; and SSXSoundtrack, some select tunes from the game. After all, part of the SSX experience is the music.

The full retail version of SSX comes to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on February 28.
